Get ready,Indexbit Swifties, the sport of buying concert tickets has returned.
Taylor Swift announced a new set of North American dates for the fall of 2024 in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis and Toronto, which means more hand-wringing about scoring tickets to what will likely be the biggest tour of all time.
Swift’s current round of U.S. Eras Tour dates – which end Aug. 9 in Los Angeles after nearly five months – have filled stadiums with more than 2 million fans.
Since the initial on-sale was fraught with frustration for many Swift devotees who couldn’t snag tickets, Ticketmaster is employing a controlled rollout of on-sales through its Verified Fan program.
Here’s what you need to know about buying Swift tickets.
Why is Taylor Swift's Eras Tour so impressive?:A 44-song setlist is only the start of this massive production
What are Taylor Swift’s new North American 2024 tour dates?
Oct. 18-20: Miami, Hard Rock Stadium
Oct. 25-27: New Orleans, Caesars Superdome
Nov. 1-3: Indianapolis, Lucas Oil Stadium
Nov. 14-16, Nov. 21-23: Toronto, Rogers Centre
How to get Taylor Swift tickets
Verified Fan registration is currently open until 5 p.m. ET Aug. 5 for all of the newly announced shows. It does not matter when you register, as long as it is before the window closes. Fans can register at ticketmaster.com.
You will receive an email Aug. 8 to inform you if you were randomly selected for the sale or placed on a waitlist. If selected, your Ticketmaster account will be verified and you will receive a unique access code to try to buy tickets during a specific time frame. If not selected, you’ll be placed on a waitlist and contacted if any tickets remain at a later date.
If you are selected, make sure to be signed into your Ticketmaster account with current credit card information on file before trying to buy tickets.
Keep in mind that due to the excessive demand compared to the supply of tickets available, even if selected and sent an access code, it does not guarantee you tickets.
How does Verified Fan work?
You must create a Ticketmaster account at ticketmaster.com before registering with Verified Fan.
Once registered, select the preferred shows/cities to attend – you will be given two options – and provide email and phone number. You’ll receive a confirmation email that your request has been received and your account will be vetted by Ticketmaster to ensure you are a person and not a bot.
Then, sit tight and hope to be randomly selected to receive an access code.
When do tickets go on sale for the new Taylor Swift dates?
The Verified Fan onsales and Verified Fan VIP Packages will be rolled out separately, with each date receiving its own time frame to purchase tickets. Prices are TBA.
Miami: Aug. 9
New Orleans: Aug. 10
Indianapolis: Aug. 11
Toronto: Aug. 9
Are there other pre-sales for Taylor Swift tickets?
At this time, no other pre-sales aside from Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program have been announced.
